Fun, Sun and Done. We're back from DNNcon!
Missed DNNCon 2013? No worries. It's time to sign up for DNNcon 2014. For details on when and where the next DNN conference is, see dnncon.com. We'll see you there!
We understand not everyone could make the trip to West Palm Beach, but for those of you who couldn't make it, we wish you could have -- organizers and sponsors of the event pulled out all the stops. Plus, Engage came back with not just one DNN MVP accolade, but two!

Here are the highlights from my humble perspective:
West Palm Beach. 80 degree weather and an ocean. That alone won the day.
Several Engage clients attended the conference and each shared it was well worth the trip.
PowerDNN covered conference arrivals with a free limo service. Engage came in too early to take advantage, but it was an effort worth a tip of our hats.
Applied-I and Arrow hosted DNN on the Water, an eight-boat fishing outing so well stocked with beer and food the fishing part could have been an afterthought -- and that was before the conference even started. Our team reeled in 20+ mackerel, but that paled in comparison to the 28-pounder reeled in on another boat.
The fall class of DNN MVPs was announced. Of the three U.S. MVP's, two work right here at Engage. Congratulations to Brian "Two Time" Dukes and class newcomer Oliver Hine. Congratulations also to the other inductees: Peter Donker, Ernst Peter Tamminga, Vicenc Masanas, Mitchel Sellers, Sebastian Leupold, Matthias Schlomann, Timo Breumelhof, Torsten Weggen. Well earned, gentlemen!
Engage hosted 3 well-received sessions. The slide decks for each are now available online:
- Enterprise Social Networking - A Primer from Jason Stone - View the slides
- Creating URL Providers for Your Custom Extensions from Brian Dukes - View the slides
- Contributing to Open Source Projects on GitHub and CodePlex from Brian Dukes - View the slides

Every sponsor was given 2 minutes at the mic to promo their brand to the attendees. Instead of infomercials, every single company spent their time complimenting the community and thanking them for giving us sponsors something worthwhile to invest in.
