Multilingual

Hi,

I would like to know if there is a way to use this module in a multilingual DotNetNuke configuration.

We actually use DsLocalisator to display multilingual content on our DotNetNuke site.

DsLocalisator can show a module in only a selected language, so we can have two times the Engagement module on the same page and show only the module configure for the language the user have selected. For this to work we would have to modify the database used for the two modules ( each module instance should point on a different database).

I looked at the settings of Employment module and dont see this settings.

Do you know a way to use this module in a multilangual environment?

Thanks

Re: Multilingual

Are you wanting to have a setting that will let you specify a second database to store the information in?  Or do you just want to have two Employment modules side-by-side, and to have them display different language information?

Employment is not currently set up to allow you to display different data side-by-side.  This is a change we may be willing to make, is that what you would need?

Re: Multilingual

What I see as a solution is to have two Employments module ( one for each supported language) side by side and show only one of these module depending on the selected language chosen by the user ( it's possible to show a specific module depending on the language with DsLocalisator ).

Do you know another solution to use this module in a multilingual environment ?

Re: Multilingual

We typically suggest maintaining two seperate sites when trying to do multilanguage, however, if this is what you would want, we can consider changes to the module for our next version that would allow you to have different information side-by-side.

Re: Multilingual

Just to have an idea.

If this modification was in the next version what would be the timeframe for the release of the next version.

Re: Multilingual

We are releasing version 1.1 of Employment next week, which will allow you to assign a status to you applicants and will send out a confirmation email to applicants when they submit an application.

We are working on the roadmap for version 1.2, currently we hope to:

  • improve notifications
  • allow users to edit their applications
  • allow users to upload cover letters
  • allow unregistered users to submit applications
  • allow admins to select what is listed on the main Job Listing page
  • allow admins to assign a specific email to receive the notifications for a specific job opening
  • alter the structure of the module to allow seperate job listings to be displayed side-by-side
