Disappointed in number of templates
Modified By Rodney Joyce on 6/12/2009 11:54:02 PM)

Hi Team,

I bought the Rotator mod for my PokerDIY Take a Tour page. While I like the module I am disappointed in the number of shipped templates - I don't use icons and none of the templates match what I am looking for (something like this, this or this). <rant> I am absoultely RUBBISH at CSS - I actually hate it. At least Table-based layouts were easy. CSS makes me want to rip my hair out.  </rant>

If there were a few more shipped templates we'd spend less time trying to tweak it or could possibly find a better match. I have spent a good 4 hours and am still nowhere near what I want it to look like.

I just thought I'd give you some honest customer feedback ;)

Thanks

Rodney Joyce

Re: Disappointed in number of templates

Rodney,

Thanks for this feedback.  I'm sorry that you're having trouble getting the module to look how you want.

We do recognize that we can improve the number of templates that we include, and we do plan to continue addng new templates to further versions of the module.  We'll take a look at those sites you linked and see if we can provide something similar.

If you would like for us to implement a template design for you, get in contact with us and I'm sure we could offer you an implementation for a reasonable price.

Hope that helps, and thanks again for the feedback,

Hi Brian,

Yes, my thinking is that IF I knew CSS well I would do it myself with JQuery and CSS without the use of a module. But to save time I buy a module hoping with a few clicks I can have it looking as cool as your demos or the Engage site. But then I realised that with the "hardcoded" 4 templates I would need to get my hands dirty anyway, which is the reason I bought the module ;)

Anyway, I think it would be good if you could make some more shipped templates like the links above that can be tweaked. Basically I want the List items on the left with hover over effect and the pagers on either side.

I have been chatting to Cuong about a quote for a custom template - I'll contact you now...

Re: Disappointed in number of templates

Brian - have any more templates been added yet?

I am working on the slider on the PokerDIY home page and was hoping for some more options...

Re: Disappointed in number of templates

We have some new templates in the works, but none have been released yet.  I'll try to push for a new release of Rotator before too long to get those templates out.

Hope that helps,

We released a new version of Rotator (2.1) this week with four new templates (one of which, Product, was inspired by your links in this thread).

Hope that helps,
