There is Light at the end of the tunnel.

The DotNetNuke Tunnel of Fun!

The tunnel of love!  Love for DotNetNuke!

Soon enough my situation will become more complicated, but I would like to just

In THE article on this, you suggest that basically once we rename and adjust the config file, our membership provider will be working in debug mode.

I am having trouble getting the same kind of debugger action you have going on that cool video.  I am not that familiar with debugging.

without the debuger or with it  --

What is the cleanest and simplest way to test the minimum and be able to run the page?

If my goal was just to share my custom membership provider between two seperate instances of DNN on the same machine. What would be the simplest way of doing this?

When I was done shouldn't I just be able to copy my membership files and the web.config references that are mentioned in THE article to the other instance of DNN to make them have a common shared membership?

Re: There is Light at the end of the tunnel.

I’ll try and respond to your questions one by one.

Question: “What is the cleanest and simplest way to test the minimum and be able to run the page?”
Answer:  Once you have your new provider created and your able to debug, the test is simply the login page for DNN. This will indirectly invoke the methods on your new provider class.

Question: If my goal was just to share my custom membership provider between two seperate instances of DNN on the same machine. What would be the simplest way of doing this?
Answer:  The simplest way is to just copy your new dll (and any related files) to the \bin folder for each of the sites and update the web.config accordingly.

hk
