| Seerch Indexer - Deleted Articles |
|
|
Deleted articles are showing up on our website. Also, articles that are archived. How do we ensure that these do not show?
Thanks,

Can you confirm that your indexer has run recently? The way the search indexer works, it gets content from the modules and if something isn't returned, it should be removed from the index.
The method we're calling should only be getting articles that have a current start date, as well as an approved version. I've just tested, and it appears that is the case. DotNetNuke Core Team Member

I assume that if indexer is spitting back rusults, it has run at some point. But how do I determin how often content is being indexed? Would this be automatic? |

Under the Host menu item, there's a Scheduler option. You can check the history for the index task there. DotNetNuke Core Team Member

Here is a list of scheduled items. I don't see one for the Search Indexer, but I do see one for the DotNetNuke search, which appears to be running normally. I'm just not sure if this is what the Search Indexer uses. Can you confirm?

DotNetNuke.Services.Search.SearchEngineScheduler, DOTNETNUKE is the core search indexer, that fires off the individual module indexers.
Do you still have the Publish Search Indexer module on a redirect page as instructed in the Wiki documention here on the site? Is that page accessible to all users, though hidden from the menu?

Yes. We do have a Search Indexer module set up on a Search Indexer page on the site. The page is viewable to all users, but not in the main menu. I have snapshots that could show this, but I am not able to attache pictures to this form it appears. I can email these to someone by email if it would help. But we went by the documents provided. And it does appear to bring up search results for new content that we add to the site. There is nothing to demonstrate it's not working, with the exception of archived content showing up.

Btw, Chris Hammond as credentials to access www.cmcc.ca at the moment. He's more than welcome to login and let me know if the configuration was done according to documentation. |
