Publishing using windows live writer

Are there any directions on configuring live writer with Publish? Also I notice when I publish a posting with live writer it didn’t update my webpage with the new content. I then logged onto my website and notice that the content did get pushed up to the site as an article with an approved status. So my question is why don’t I see my content? I'm I missing something here? do i need to restart the site?

Thanks in advance!

Re: Publishing using windows live writer

Are you using 5.3.0?

I just found a bug that might occur if you have pinging enabled, this might be causing the cache not to be cleared. I've corrected it in the 5.3.1 release we're packaging.

Do you have pinging enabled in the settings? If so you could try disabling that feature. We'll have 5.3.1 available for download later today.

Re: Publishing using windows live writer

Hmm...I wonder if I’m using this tool correctly because what I want to do is to publish blog entries and post new articles on my site. So I wanted to use live writer to be the frontend for both. Can I do that?

Re: Publishing using windows live writer

Let's take a step back.

I am assuming that the issue you are running into is that it didn't show up on the front page of your website, but it does show up in your system correct? If you have everything in the proper categories, it is likely that the cache just didn't get flushed, so even though it is in the system it isn't being displayed to the users yet because they are seeing an older cache version of your category list.

One way to verify this is the case would be to go to the article in Publish, edit it, you don't have to make any changes, but be sure to mark it as approved, click on update. That should flush the cache.

Does it now show up in the list you expect it to?
