List View not displaying properly on IE6
Modified By o2cleaned on 11/6/2008 1:02:40 PM)

Did searches and went to other sites to look for solutions, but decided to list this problem here...

When I change the Events page setting to "Listing," the page comes up very wide with no contents whatsoever on IE6. Horizontal scroll bar goes far... very far... Even "Edit" option doesn't work. If I delete the event, the page comes up properly with the correct width.

I changed settings numerious times, entered a sample event in different ways with different options checked/unchecked, but I cannot seem to solve this problem. IE7, FF3 and other browsers list events fine. It's only on IE6. Have customers using IE6 and I have to cover all basis...

Can anyone help me?

Re: List View not displaying properly on IE6

We'll need some more information before we can help you out with this.  Our demos all look fine in IE6.  Can you give us a URL to your site, so we can see what might be different for you?

Thanks,

Hi Brian:

Let me get back to you with external URL later if that's okay. We are in the middle of upgrade right now...

Thanks for the quick reply,
K

I can confirm that this is a problem though not with the Listing View but with the Detail View. We are seeing it only where the height and width of the containing pane are limited and smallish.

I've posted a screenshot below. The featured events module is supposed to be 225px wide, instead, when you view the Event Details (which are very basic), it grows to be many thousands of pixels wide, and doesn't display any content.

While I'm at it, we are seeing a problem in IE6 where the various pieces aren't lining up where they are supposed to with the default listing template.

"When" is not lining up on the left and then the Time is next to overview. I'm using a custom skin so it's not really a problem for me but the default skins should render correctly in all major browsers.Screenshot below.

Thanks for the feedback, David.  We'll make sure to look into updating these templates to work with IE6 for the next version.

Brian:

Was going to send you the link, but we had to replace the page with something else... We found this error in the event log - I had to remove some info due to security reasons, but let me know if you need more info.

Re: Detail View not displaying properly on IE6

The ThreadAbortExceptions shouldn't be any problem, other than appearing in the Event Log and worrying you.  These just happen when you click on something that navigates to another page.  It doesn't actually indicate a problem.
