Templates to Share?
Modified By Brian Dukes on 10/23/2008 11:37:41 AM)

Since Engage: Events has templated views, it is very easy to create your own list view, or tweak the provided views.  If you've made a template and would like to share it with the Engage: Events community, post it on this forum or email it to me, and I'll get it posted for others to use.

To get things rolling, I'll post a quick tweak to our Item template that also displays the time.

Enjoy!

I needed a really clean and simple Featured Events view for the home page that displayed 2 featured events and nothing else. Here's a zip with the 3 templates to which I made changes. (And yes, the Footer.NoPagingListing.html is supposed to be blank).

Brian, et al,

Thanks for this post.

Can you post brief instructions for the "templated-view" installation and module implementation for this view?

Thanks in advance.

~ Garth

Re: Templates to Share?

Garth,

The listing view of Engage: Events uses templates to determine the HTML markup that it creates.  When setting up the listing view, the module presents you with options for each of four pieces of the list that are tempalted.  If you want to create your own view, you can create or alter one of the existing templates and then upload it to your site, in the websites DesktopModules/EngageEvents/Templates folder.  Full documentation on templates is available on our documentation wiki.

Let me know if that answers your questions,

Re: Templates to Share?

Brian,

The template function work great.  I used David O'Leary's templates (with some CSS tweaks) and they work like a champ.

The documentation is clear about creating/customizing templates.  It could be a little clearer about installation of them.  FYI.

Thanks again for the help.

~ Garth
