New release of Engage: F3 (free)

Today we announce the release of the latest version v03.00.00 of our free (<strike>$$</strike>) Engage: F3 module. This version works with DotNetNuke 5.1.1+

Engage: F3 allows you to quickly and easily search and replace strings in the HTML modules on your DotNetNuke Portal. The initial goal for the module was to make it easier for content administrators to find URLs that need replaced when moving a site from your Test environment to a Production environment, but the number of uses for Engage: F3 are limitless.

Engage: F3 is free for registered users of http://www.engagesoftware.com

Once logged in you can download the module from our Downloads Page.

Engage: Publish 5.5.2 Released

Engage: Publish 5.5.2 was silently released yesterday. This release has a few bug fixes, as well as a couple of new enhancements. The primary issue corrected was a problem with DateTime conversion for locales outside of the United States. You can check out change log for the 5.5.2 release here.

Enhancements include the ability to now use the Theme support in Windows Live Writer if you are publishing content via that desktop application. We also added in some logic and a task to provide some basic stats for the Custom List display, showing the number of views and comments for an item if you choose to enable that feature.

As with all our modules, customers are eligible for a year of free upgrades from the date of purchase, upgrades are available viaModule Downloads page. If your upgrade access has expired you can renew your access (for less than the original price) here.

"Engage: Publish is the premier content management system for DotNetNuke. Engage: Publish allows you to organize and display your content within DotNetNuke with a fully functional versioning and workflow process. Configurations options are limited only by your imagination. All content entered and managed through Publish uses our custom versioning and workflow process so you can rest assured that administrators have the ability to approve content before it shows up live on your production website. You also get the ability to rollback to any previous version of content through our expansive versioning system." More information about Publish can be found here.

More DotNetNuke in Europe?

Well the SDN event here in The Netherlands was a blast, I must say I had another great time visiting the Dutch DotNetNuke users once again. I am excited for the Day of DotNetNuke (possibly named something else) that is being planned for Paris in May of 2010. I’m going to start booking my travel for that very soon, I just need to check out Bing Travel to see what the prices are, and if they are expected to go up or down!

I hope to see more of the European DotNetNuke users at this event, I’ll post a link when there is one available, but so you can start planning for it, I hear it will be on 5/28/2010 in Paris.

Thanks again to Stefan, Erik, Joop and Remi for everything at SDN this weekend, I’m headed back to the United States now, regretting leaving, but also ready to get home to my lovely wife (she’ll be going to Paris as well)

Engage Software, now serving Europe!

Actually we've always served Europe, and customers around the world. I am fortunate enough to get to travel to The Netherlands this weekend, and it even gets to be work related! I'm heading to the One Day SDN event on 12/14/2009 in Houten, The Netherlands. I will be delivering three presentations on Monday, (read the full blog post for all the info)

OpenForce 09 Day 1 Update

So things are running smoothly so far at OpenForce here in Las Vegas. The Engage guys are all enjoying their time. Ian and Dang had one of the first sessions of the event this morning, and finished that up like champs. We handed out T-Shirts after the session, though people are requesting our hunter orange shirts from last year. We’ve got some red/maroon shirts this year, sorry to disappoint.

I’ve been live blogging from some of the sessions this morning over on DotNetNuke.com, you can find them with Shaun’s Keynote at OpenForce 09, and Snowcovered session from Brice Snow.

A quick overview of each. Shaun talked about some project stats, what’s happened in the past year, and what’s coming in the next year or two with DNN. Things are looking good!

Brice talked about the history of Snowcovered, and then had some basic stats about that website as well. I think he got attacked afterwards from a few people with questions, being the first time he’s been out in public speaking about SC I think people had a lot pent up! He held up well and presented very well. I look forward to seeing more of him in the future.

We had some lunch after the morning sessions and sat around talking to Brice and Bruce Chapman from Ifinity it was nice to finally meet Bruce after being a big fan of his modules/extensions for a number of years.

The rest of the afternoon is just getting started. I may not live blog from each session, but I’ll try to post an overview later today. At 4:30pm the expo hall opens up for the vendors to show off all their wares.

To follow us and our tweets check out this URL which will show the tweets from Engage guys.

DotNetNuke Portal Admin webinar starts tomorrow (9/15/2009)

Here at Engage we’ve been doing DotNetNuke Training for well over 5 years now. Initially we provided training for existing clients, but over time we realized that we had the knowledge and a market to branch out and provide our training services on a larger scale. We even became the first, and so far the only, Official DotNetNuke Training provider.

Starting tomorrow (Tuesday 9/15/2009) we are conducting another round of our DotNetNuke Portal Admin class via our webinar instruction. Our webinar training provides some of our DNN classes over a three day period. This round is Tuesday through Thursday this week, from Noon to 2pm CST. If you’re interested in attending our Portal Admin class for further instruction in the art of DotNetNuke administration be sure to get signed up as there is still time.

If you are interested in other training information about DotNetNuke I’ve taken the time to write up a little more detail about the training that Engage provides for DotNetNuke, please check out the full blog post for that info.

DotNetNuke Sessions at the upcoming St. Louis Day of DotNet

So if you have been under a rock lately, you might not have heard about the upcoming St. Louis Day of DotNet event at the end of August, the 28th and 29th. I’ve been working the past few weeks to try to get some DotNetNuke sessions lined up, and so far things are coming along nicely! We’ve got at least 4 sessions currently, and I believe we’ll have probably 8 total sessions if myself and Cuong Dang get a couple more submissions in there later today.

Day of DotNetNuke, a weekend in review

So Dang and I headed off to Tampa Florida on Thursday to get ready for the Day of DNN event, as well as teach a few of our DotNetNuke Workshops. We flew down Thursday morning, picked up our rental car (after an upgrade to a full size that worked out well, more on that later). Once we made our way over to the hotel we checked in and began working on our presentations for Saturday, there’s nothing like leaving it to the last minute right? When we checked in we picked up two packages, one with the materials for our workshops on Friday/Sunday, and one from Wrox with three freshly printed copies of my new book, the first copies I’d actually seen in print so I was pretty excited about that.
