So I had hoped to have the 4.3.7 release of Engage: Publish out last week, but towards the end of the week a few things came up in the code that we decided needed to be handled prior to a release. A few of the items were small bugs that had popped up in some new testing we were doing. One of the major things was performance issues that were starting to pop up.
As more and more people start using Engage: Publish we've started to see some performance items we'd like to implement within the code in order to speed up the sites that are using Publish. Beginning on Monday Brian Dukes and I started taking a good hard look at Caching within the module. As for Friday afternoon the code has been added into Publish that will allow an administrator to setup a default Cache time for all Publish content, and then be able to override that setting on a module by module basis if necessary.

Nine of us from Engage Software went to Tulsa Tech Fest in Tulsa Oklahoma. I personally gave three presentations related to DotNetNuke, while the rest of the guys ventured around to various other presentation topics. Some of them will blog later today.

If our blog gets really inactive after tomorrow it's because 9 of us are heading to Tornado Country (though we really are already in it).
We're off to Tulsa Tech Fest, leaving this afternoon and tonight. It looks like the Tornados have already moved through, though they've caused some damage to Oktoberfest according to this article on CNN.
If you're going to be in Tulsa, be sure to find some of us!

DotNetNuke 4.6.2 was released today! You can get it from www.dotnetnuke.com
You can see what was fixed in 4.6.1 which was released last week with the link below. I believe, and this is unofficial, the 4.6.2 release contains a quick fix for ModuleSettingsBase
http://support.dotnetnuke.com/project/ChangeLog.aspx?PROJID=2
Download it now! I've already upgraded a few sites to 4.6.2 and will be upgrading more sites this week!

Well it's been a busy summer for me and it looks like it isn't slowing down just yet. Earlier this month I spent a week in the Washington DC area conducting some advanced DotNetNuke Module Development Training for a new client. In just over a week I'll be in Topeka Kansas for the SCCA Solo Nationals, I'm definitely looking forward to getting away from computers for a week and just enjoying racing a car or two!
I've got quite a few speaking engagements coming up this fall, here's a quick list, I'm sure i'll go into more detail before each event.
October 2nd I'll be speaking at the Information Systems Programming club at UM St. Louis
October 19th and 20th I'll be giving 2 or 3 presentations at the 2nd Tulsa Tech Fest, I presented...

Engage Software has just launched another website. The new site is a portal for The Ticket Guys (www.theticketguys.com). It is built using the DotNetNuke portal framework, though we had to develop new modules and enhance existing modules to get all of the desired functionality on the site. So if you're looking for St. Louis Cardinals, St. Louis Rams,...

I recently returned from a trip to Chicago to offer a corporate customer a two day training session on Advanced DotNetNuke Topics. That has inspired me to increase some of our marketing materials here at Engage Software to include more of our training options. While we offer training on everything within DotNetNuke, we only list off a small fraction of those topics on our DotNetNuke Training page.
Here's a longer list of some of the training options we can offer for your business needs. (I'll be adding/editing to this list over the next few days)

In the July 07 Issue of the DotNetNuke Newsletter Kiwanis.org was featured in the Project Spotlight! Why does that mean anything to me? Because Engage Software developed a lot of the custom functionality and converted the design to a skin for the Kiwanis site! Check it out at http://www.kiwanis.org

Are you going to OpenForce07 in Las Vegas November 5-8th 2007? I am! And I even have the badge displaying on http://chrishammond.com
Have you seen the agenda for the conference yet? If not take a look at it here.
There will be 3 days of DotNetNuke topics, two tracks each day. It looks like I'm up second, on the second day, of the second track. We're also lining up a vendor booth for Engage Software, I'm hoping to write a demo version of Engage: Publish...

A few years back I was enlightened by Chris Paterra in the ways of using NANT scripts to aid in the packaging of DotNetNuke Modules. Using NANT to package your WAP (web application project) modules within Visual Studio 2005 is a snap, and can save you a LOT of time each time you have to come up with a new release.
